When should I send my wedding invitations?

Save the dates are typically sent out six to 12 months before your wedding day. The top end of this is preferable as it gives your guests the most time to prepare and change their plans if necessary.

For a uk based wedding, we recommend sending your invites out 4-6 months before the day.

For overseas weddings, or if your guests have a long way to travel, we recommend sending your invites out 6-12 months before.

How many save the dates shall I order?

Count household, not people. you don’t need a save the date for each individual.

Only order a few extra copies for last minute invitations or if any get lost in the post.

You will also want to keep one for yourself as a reminder of the excitement and one to give your photographer and videographer for your detail shots.

Should I include a details card with my invites?

If you have created a wedding website for your guests to use, perhaps accessible with a QR code, you may not need a details card to be included, as the majority of information can be found online.

However, don’t forget to consider elderly guests who may not be able to easily access your wedding website.

If you are not planning on providing details online, including a details card is wise and will help reduce the questions you get before your big day.

Including a details card in your invitation suite can elevate your stationary by introducing additional layers and colours.
